ICP Care is hosting its FIRST Annual Silent Auction! On November 19, we will be opening up the “virtual doors” for bidding in the comfort of your space online for some amazing items and all the proceeds support ICP Care.
In light of our current global circumstances, we wanted to keep our hearts and minds focused on the high-risk pregnancy Intrahepatic Cholestasis of Pregnancy that affects hundreds of women, babies, and families.
I’d like to share my story with you, which is similar to so many other ICP moms. At 32 weeks, I started to have severe itching. after a week of suffering at a regular OB appointment, my doctor mentioned that she wanted to test my bile acids and mentioned the possibility of an ICP diagnosis. That was a terrifying thought of the increased risk of stillbirth and cutting my timeframe of nesting in half as a first time Mom. I cried the whole Uber ride back to work and had to sit at my desk desperately Googling to find anything I can find on the diagnosis. I was diagnosed two days later. The team at NYU was helpful in talking me through what needed to happen next for the health and safety of my child and self.
At 36 weeks and 6 days, my little guy arrived safely into the world weighing 7 pounds, 10 ounces. Born on March 13, 2020, just days before the COVID-19 quarantine took over. Coming out from the fog, I realized that I needed to do more to help other women and families that were in the same boat because I was fortunate enough to get through it. I am so grateful that this organization exists and has extensive resources for families in this situation.
The silent auction is our way of mobilizing our community, coming to you, and raising awareness all with the click of a button. The auction will run from November 19 to November 21. You can bid on items like a baskets from Flawless All Natural Body Works or DoTERRA, eight separate vacation packages from Elite Resorts, beautiful pieces of jewelry from Kendra Scott, a basket cleaning products from Grove Collaborative and much more.
The goal is to raise the funds necessary for a patient and healthcare professionals microlearning videos and continue to attend 2021 healthcare conferences to speak to healthcare professionals and distribute educational materials.
If you get out bid, don’t find anything you want, or are feeling extra generous, we ask that you to make a donation right on the silent auction site because we all need to band together to Fight the Itch and Save a Life!
I look forward to seeing you at event.gives/icpcare November 19 at 6:00 pm.
