ICP Care Team Volunteer
My passion for spreading awareness of Intrahepatic Cholestasis of Pregnancy (ICP) stems from my personal experience and professional background in public health, clinical research, and education. I’m a wife, mom of two, and my journey into advocacy began during my second pregnancy, when I was diagnosed with intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy (ICP).
In March 2025, I began experiencing symptoms which I now know are signs of ICP, but had never heard about at the time. I was admitted to the hospital for a week where I spoke with the high risk fetal medicine team and was asked for the first time “are you feeling itchy?” My life became about labs, scans, visits, and learning about ICP. The experience was deeply impacting and it opened my eyes to how important awareness, education, and support are for families going through high-risk pregnancies. That’s what inspired me to step into advocacy and contribute to this mission.
Professionally, I hold a bachelor’s degree in Public Health and a master’s in Clinical and Translational Science. I currently work in clinical research education and training, where I help ensure that those conducting medical research are well-prepared, ethical, and informed. I’m passionate about bridging the gap between science and the communities it serves, especially when it comes to maternal and children’s health. I hope to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those affected by ICP and help ensure that no family facing ICP feels alone.
