My connection to ICP Care is deeply personal. During my first pregnancy, I only knew to talk to my doctor about my itchy legs because of a story from a friend of a friend. I didn’t know anyone who had experienced cholestasis in pregnancy before that. I relied heavily on ICP Care’s resources to research the condition and learn how to advocate for myself. When I experienced a recurrence during my second pregnancy, I was thankful for the knowledge I had gained and the support of a wonderful OBGYN. Still, I came to realize how much our medical system struggles to address the emotional side of maternal health. Finding community through ICP Care’s support groups and using their educational materials were instrumental in helping me make sense of my diagnosis and feel less alone.
I am an arts, culture, and museum professional with experience in organizational development, fundraising, and development management. Throughout my career, I’ve worked to help mission-driven organizations grow their impact through relationship-building, strategic planning, and community engagement.
As a volunteer, I’m passionate about advancing maternal health education and helping others feel empowered with knowledge and hope. I believe that through collaboration, compassion, and advocacy, we can continue improving outcomes for mothers and babies everywhere. Significant data also show that mother and baby outcomes are improved when things like depression and isolation are treated. Supporting mothers matters.
