Hi, I’m Hannah Jew and I’m excited to be the Ohio ICP Care Ambassador. I experienced Intrahepatic Cholestasis of Pregnancy (ICP) during my second pregnancy in 2020. At around 23 weeks, my back started itching and after googling my symptoms, I reached out to my doctor to get tested for Cholestasis of Pregnancy. Of course, I had it, and then my symptoms worsened each week. I am so grateful that I had the ICP Care group for support to turn to. I asked so many questions and was honestly reassured that I wasn’t alone. I got sicker and sicker until finally at 29 weeks pregnant, I went into early labor and was put on bed rest at the hospital. Three days later, I gave birth to Asher, a tiny 3-pound baby boy who was, thankfully, pretty healthy considering the circumstances. It took me about 3 months until my ICP resolved, and I feel so grateful that both my son and I are healthy. I’m here because I want anyone else going through this to know that they aren’t alone, and that there are resources. We are strong, and we are even stronger together.
